So we had a web cam up in Eggleston attic for some time, very popular. And we thought, "well, we could put some more around campus" because people like to see what's going on. So I had one sitting in my office that we were trying to work out. We were going to put up in Torgersen bridge, looking across the chapel down the drill field. So we got word that, well, they're going to have this candlelight ceremony on the drill field, made a couple of phone calls, found that, yeah, you can set it up in Burruss So I went trotting across campus. At that time the middle window on the fourth floor was a conference room found a couple of phone books, set them on the window sill to get the camera up high enough. Think it was Corey Earls, maybe one other person, worked up in that area and they helped me get the thing configured and on the network, which at that time wasn't easy, but we got it going, got a feed, and about the time I got back over to the Media Building to put a link on a web page, people were starting to gather. Unfortunately, we didn't capture the video, but people were able to at least see it. When classes started up again, the camera setup there for a couple of weeks and we got word "well, you need to take the camera down because they need that office space.." It needed to be moved. Alright. Well, served its purpose so I went trotting over, unplugged it, got back to my office and it wasn't too long after that that we got word from Larry Hincker "You need to put the camera back." Some of the families complained that it was gone because they liked looking at the camera and seen people walking around the memorial. So we've been through several cameras, but it's still there. A number of years ago we finally got a program so that we could feed it to YouTube. Because one of the restrictions on the camera, was you could only have 20 connections, and after that, that was it. And for like, the Corps, pass in review, and things like that People wanted to see it. But if you weren't one of the first 20, you were locked out. So that solved that problem.
