By then, Bob Heterick was in-between jobs. He had retired from Tech. He was going to be taking a job with EDUCOM, as president of EDUCOM. He said, I'd love to work with you on that project. So Bob actually was our first project manager for the electronic village and he started giving presentations on the idea of the Blacksburg Electronic Village concept. And so we started getting national publicity way ahead of where we actually were in rolling the damn thing out. It's sort of pushed us and Some really interesting things happened. We believe the very first retail transactions over the internet occurred within that Blacksburg community. One of the biggest early users was the Wine Cellar. And legally nobody even knew whether you could do this, but they started selling wine. It very quickly became a huge part of their business. In fact, I think they consciously begin to bring it back because it was taking over for their local business. I talked my doctor, Dr. Hendrix, into doing a little newsletter over using the Internet access. And he started putting out a weekly newsletter. You know, what is he seeing in his office? These were all little interesting experiments where people were putting their toe in the water and beginning to understand what it would all mean. After Bob left Andy Cohill, we made him the project manager for the Blacksburg Electronic Village. If anything, Andy is an incredible marketing and PR guy, we had BBC came in and did a story. Major newspapers, magazines all were doing stories on the electronic village project.
