The new VT Research Data Infrastructure is a partnership between the Division of IT and the Office of Research and Innovation to develop a new, cloud-based platform for flexible storage and analysis of protected research data.

Senior Leadership has developed the IT Operational Plan Version 0.9 for FY 2022 – FY 2023. As VT IT Transformation Program initiatives become defined, the plan will be updated to Version 1.0.

In an emergency situation, clear, rapid, and efficient communication is critical, and NI&S has made significant contributions to the safety of the Virginia Tech community through its recent and ongoing enhancements to VT Alerts. NI&S completed phase two of the VT Alerts system in 2019, achieving three notable milestones.

The Division of IT’s Human Resources (HR) team has partnered with IT Experience & Engagement to build out a service request form within ServiceNow to enable requests and incident management for HR needs and services throughout the division.

You may recall my mention of the IT Connect program during our Core Values Retreat in May. This is a program that will introduce a continuous feedback model to our organization. Continuous feedback programs promote regular, ongoing exchanges between employees and their supervisors rather than waiting for a once-per-year performance review to get feedback.
