Department: IT Experience and Engagement Unit, Division of Information Technology
Type of Position: Full-time Graduate Assistantship with a tuition waiver for AY 2023-2024
Reports to: Director of UX Design and Assessment
Hours: 20 hours/week
Location: This position is fully remote.

About the Unit

Information Technology Experience & Engagement (ITEE) is focused on collaboratively evolving and actively ensuring a high quality user experience when interacting with the Division of Information Technology. ITEE serves as the “front door” for users across the university, providing support and coordination of activities. ITEE also works closely with Division units to continuously review and improve the user experience.

About the Position

This graduate assistantship opportunity offers a unique chance to gain valuable hands-on experience in the realms of employee and user experience. As a graduate assistant, you will play a crucial role in leveraging insights from various employee and user data sources to enhance the overall employee and user experience. Your responsibilities will involve systematically collecting and analyzing employee and user data, preparing insightful reports, and presenting them to stakeholders to facilitate data-informed decision-making. This position presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the improvement of employee and user experiences through data analysis and reporting.

Job Duties

  • Designing measurement tools and methodologies to evaluate employee and user experience comprehensively.
  • Gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data obtained through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and usability testing. 
  • Compiling data reports and delivering insightful presentations to foster a comprehensive understanding of employee and user experiences throughout their lifecycle. 
  • Conducting research on the latest employee engagement best practices, significant trends, and industry benchmarks.

 

Required Qualification

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective and clear dissemination of information.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving, exhibiting attention to detail. 
  • Proven experience in developing surveys, conducting interviews, and facilitating focus groups. 
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, showcasing the ability to derive meaningful insights from data. 
  • Proficient in utilizing tools such as QuestionPro and Microsoft Office to support data collection and analysis. 
  • Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively as an integral member of a team.

 

Preferred Qualification

  • Prior experience in employee engagement research.
  • Prior experience in documenting user personas and customer journey maps.
