Angela I. Correa

Angela I. Correa was appointed as director of communications for Virginia Tech's Division of Information Technology in 2016, after previously serving as a communications specialist in both IT and in the university's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She has more than 25 years of experience in higher education marketing and strategic communications, science and technical writing, and organizational communications. As communications director, Angela is responsible for developing and executing the division's IT communications strategy, including news, electronic publications, social media, video, special events, and websites. Angela serves as chair of the IT Communications Team and an advisor to the university CIO, and provides consulting, editorial, and creative services to faculty and staff across university operations. She also represents IT communications within Virginia Tech's Communications & Marketing unit, coordinating on strategies and messaging that serve the university's mission. Angela earned her bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia.
