HPC Day is being held April 11, 2014. This inaugural day-long event includes tours, short research talks, keynote addresses, and a poster session. Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (VBI) and Information Technology’s Advanced Research Computing (ARC) group are co-sponsoring the event. In the morning, a series of shorter talks by VBI faculty will introduce the campus to their ongoing projects; there are also hourly tours of the Visionarium lab in Torgersen and the Andrews Information Systems Building. The keynote speaker is Rick Stevens of University of Chicago and Argonne National Labs. In addition to a faculty panel, there will be a plenary address by Virginia Tech’s Professor Wu Feng. There will be an open evening poster session and reception held Owens Hall.
