Tech Teams
August 1, 2014
Tech Teams is an initiative administered by Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies (TLOS) to evaluate emerging technologies. Teams are comprised of interested individuals from all over the university. At the conclusion of their rapid evaluation, team members publish their experiences and opinions on the Tech Teams blog.
The inaugural projects have included the Beam TelePresence Robot, a mobile video conferencing device mounted on a robotic base, allowing the host complete immersion in a remote location, driving around in the environment and interacting with participants; Google Glass, which are worn like a pair of glasses and let the wearer capture images or video, and view, record, or respond to information; and Lecture Tools, a web-based learning environment and student response system that increases engagement and participation in the classroom and gives students study tools for use outside of class.
