Students taking 3D Computer Animation are using high-performance computing to render their artwork in a fraction of the time it would take on a home or lab computer. A new "point-and-click" 3D rendering service developed by the Division of Information Technology’s Advanced Research Computing (ARC) unit in collaboration with faculty from the School of Visual Arts and the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology allows these student to access ARC's computing clusters through a user-friendly interface. The time savings translates to freedom to test new ideas, expand their creativity, and take their 3D animation skills to new levels.
