Virginia Tech uses Banner as the underlying framework for online resource planning and university administration. Banner 9 is the next generation of the university’s enterprise resource planning system (ERP), which provides integrated management of our core business processes.
By the end of 2018, all partners throughout the university will complete the rollout of the Banner 9 upgrade, fully revitalizing the university’s ERP tools. Banner 9 brings a more modern user interface, and lays the foundation for easier integration with other systems in the future. Banner 9 won’t change the fields and functionality of administrative pages, the business processes themselves, or the underlying databases that enable them. This continuity will smooth the transition over to using the new software.
On August 6, 2018 the link off of the login.banner.vt.edu page will change to point to Banner 9 -- at that point, departmental Banner users will be able to begin using Banner 9.

Access to the old Banner 8 suite will still be available for three more months. To access it, visit onecampus.vt.edu and search for Banner 8. Banner 8 will be available until November 4, 2018.
