In celebration of Women’s Month, we showed of Hidden Figures and offered tours of some of Virginia Tech’s science and technology treasures.
Hidden Figures tells the story of Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, and Dorothy Vaughan, three Black women mathematicians who changed the space race. Our event seeks to celebrate their achievements and to encourage pre-college and early college students to consider and pursue careers in STEM fields.
Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus offers endless opportunities to expand your worldview, explore science and technology, and discover where your path may lie. Whether you are in college, pre-college, or you are still unsure, it’s important to keep checking out new options and possibilities - you never know what will inspire you!
Forging a career in science and technology fields takes dedication, a willingness to learn, and the vision to keep moving forward. Like the courageous women in Hidden Figures, your interests in science and technology will shape the future.
So choose your own adventure! And stay inspired.
