Project Security Initial Review

Security of information systems acquisitions, development, and maintenance is mandated by university policies, procedures, and standards. Use the project security initial review form to begin the security review of your project. E-mail the completed form to the Information Technology Security Office to initiate the security review. Be sure to read the instructions and definitions page of the security form for guidance.

Directions For Use
  1. Save a copy of the IT Project Security Initial Review form (Excel | pdf).
  2. Review the "Instructions+Definitions" worksheet page.
  3. Complete the IT Project Security Initial Review form.
  4. E-mail the completed form to the Information Technology Security Office.
  5. The IT Security Office and project manager may schedule a security review of the project. The security review may be iterative.
  6. Approval of the initial security components of this project are required from the IT Security Office before the project planning process is complete. Final approval of the projects security components are required from the IT Security Office, before production implementation. See IT Project Security Final Review form for more information.
  7. Use form information as appropriate to complete the project scope form.
  8. If desirable, attach the completed form to the project scope form.
  9. Store completed form with the other project management documentation in the project document repository.
