Fiscal Year 2025: By the Numbers

Below is a snapshot of some metrics from projects and initiatives completed across the Division of IT during fiscal year 2025. 

DoIT Employee Data

Cloud Storage

Our Collaborative Computing Solutions group provisions and manages cloud storage in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 for students, faculty, staff, and affiliates. In FY 2025, this amounted to over 3,209 terabytes of data across all individual and shared accounts.

Meeting & Collaborative Tools at VT

Virginia & U.S. Cyber Ranges

Cyber Range metrics highlight hands-on cybersecurity education impact: 19,811 course enrollments across 891 courses, with 79,566 virtual machines deployed and over 617 million seconds (19+ years) of total VM usage. The U.S. Cyber Range of Virginia Tech operates across 32 U.S. states and 7 countries, advancing cybersecurity training worldwide.

Network Infrastructure & Services

Security

User Support Services

High-performance Computing for Research

Teaching & Learning Tools

Virginia Tech User Accounts
