Ushering in a new generation of telephony at Virginia Tech
In the summer of 2024, Network Infrastructure and Services completed a multi-year effort to migrate more than 12,000 phone numbers, including for 28 remote campuses, to the Zoom Phone service, a cloud-based solution that allows employees to make and receive calls via the Zoom app. Service was enabled for 9000 users and 5 large-scale call centers, including the 4Help IT Support contact center to Zoom Phone, eliminating the need for phones to be tied to office desktops.
